Thrive in an engaging and social environment

At 1425 we’ve created fun and safe programs that are easy to do and specifically designed for you. Get involved both inside and outside in the community with planned activities such as cooking, yoga, hiking, swimming, art and workshops. Our weekly outings are active and educational ranging from visits to the Art Gallery of Ontario to taking in some of Toronto’s most interesting local attractions.

We balance onsite group and individual programming as well as participation in life outside the doors of 1425 Bayview. We offer challenging growth opportunities for each of our residents by linking with community health and service organizations through a variety of outreach initiatives.

All residents are encouraged to take part in the planning of program activities.

On Site Activities Include:

  • Guided wellness fitness classes featuring yoga, exercise balls, free weights, elliptical and treadmill
  • We offer an arts program that explores a myriad of mediums in arts and music
  • Our games room offers a variety of interesting and stimulating options, including table tennis, chess, checkers and Wii guitar hero with drums, just to name a few
  • Cooking class allows you to learn the ins and outs of a kitchen by aiding in meal planning and preparation
  • When the weather is warm, join our organic gardening program to help grow and maintain flowers and herbs

Resident Community Activities Include:

  • Volunteering with local organizations, such as the local food banks
  • Enjoy the many green spaces and parks in the neighbourhood on our group hikes
  • Weekly outings may include bowling, gallery visits, swimming and attending sporting events
  • Big excursions may include overnight cottage trips, special meals and visits to Centre Island

A Day in the Life

  • Start the day off right!
    With the help of our staff, residents will join each other downstairs and prepare their breakfast.
  • Tap into your inner artist during our guided music session.
    From the bongo to piano, we have a range of instruments to chose from.
  • Fuel up on lunch.
    Dig into a tasty meal that is fresh, low in sugar and most importantly, delicious!
  • Be a part of the community.
    At the local food banks we help others in need and meet locals from the neighbourhood.
  • Relax and unwind during free time.
    Whether you are in the mood to read by the fire, play a game or have down time in your apartment, the choice is all yours.
  • Join in and be a ‘sous chef’.
    Each day residents have an opportunity to take turns in helping to plan, prepare and clean up after dinner.
  • The good times keep coming!
    Round off the day with a movie night and healthy snack.
